These cold temps make for clear skies and a beautiful, frozen landscape. Hopefully some of you caught the lunar eclipse last night and if not, perhaps saw the moon setting in all its glory today.

Hello and Happy Mother's Day from Minnesota! I am grateful to be visiting my mom this year and enjoying the wildlife & scenery in my hometown of Outing. Yesterday I woke to a beautiful foggy morning that is so quintessential to the northern lakes area. Add to that roughly 70 trumpeter swans and it was a serene experience. Here are a few of the images I created.

Wildlife activity was slow yesterday morning but the rolling fog and autumn colors were wonderful, so I decided to create a short time lapse video.

Rainy days create foggy mornings; foggy mornings create dramatic light. This is one of my favorite times of year for morning photos in the valley. Once the clouds part it is clear that the snow line is working its way down the mountains a little more each day. Have a great Monday out there and thank you for following along!
